SNHU Spring Week 2009: "Best Week Ever"

By Mary Kayajanian- Contributing Writer

Now that all of the snow has officially melted, it's time to celebrate the warm weather!  CAPE's Spring Week will be taking place April 19th -25th.  With many different events planned, it’s sure to be a fun-filled week for all students to enjoy, and become one of your Best Weeks Ever. As the new Major Weekends Chair for the 2009-2010 academic year, I am very excited to be a part of Spring Week, and hope you all will come and enjoy the fun-filled week that is planned.  I hope to carry on the tradition next year by having more creative and exciting themed weeks for the SNHU community to enjoy!

The week of Sunday, April 19 starts off with the annual Spring Concert featuring Gavin Degraw.  The concert is taking place in the Field House and will begin at 8:00pm.  Make sure to get there early, because doors will open at 7:00pm.  Tickets to see Gavin Degraw are still available, but they are going fast!  SNHU student tickets are $15, and can either be purchased at the Info Booth or www.snhutickets.com.

Monday's event will be taking place in the Pub Hallway from 12:00-4:00p.m.  You and your friends can come and get pictures taken at the Photo Booth, and have your photos developed in just minutes!

"What do you get when you cross the fun and excitement of a live action TV Game Show, the challenge of a general knowledge test, and the craziness of a Three Stooges movie? It's BONK! - The Comedy Game Show based on the immutable certainty that while getting hit over the head isn't funny, watching other people get hit over the head is."  Tuesday’s Bonk Game Show night, is a chance to win some great prizes during an interactive game show.  Taking place in the Last Chapter Pub, the doors open at 7:00, and the show will begin at 7:30.

Wednesday April 22 will be an afternoon made for relaxation.  And what better way to relax, than getting a massage!?  The massages will take place in the Corcoran Conference Room in the Student Center from 12:30-4:30p.m.  Students can begin to sign up for a massage time at 11:00a.m., but don’t wait because these times are sure to fill up fast!

After a day of relaxation, now it will be time to laugh!  Thursday evening CAPE will be hosting comedian, Geoff Keith in the Last Chapter Pub.  He has been featured on Comedy Central’s "Live at Gotham," BET's "One Night Stand" and E's "Chelsea Lately." Doors open at 8:00p.m., and the performance will be at 8:30.  All ages can attend, and proper ID is required for students 21 +.

On Friday April, 24th, come enjoy a great afternoon snack of Dippin' Dots.  In the Last Chapter Pub from 12:00-4:00p.m., you and your friends can enjoy one of the many flavors of ice cream.  The flavors available are Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Cotton Candy, Mint Chocolate, Peanut Butter Chip, and Strawberry Cheesecake Yogurt.

To wrap up the week, Saturday April 25th, will be CAPE’s 3rd annual SNHU Stock.  The outdoor concert will take place on the East Side quad.  The music festival will take place from 12:00-6:00p.m., where students can enjoy the music concert, barbeque, inflatables, novelty items, and a performance from the SNHU Dance Club.  With so many things to offer, you do not want to miss out on this event!  All of these activities are paid for by your Students Activities Fee.
