Buon Giorno

The Coordinators of Activities and Programming Events, better known as CAPE, sponsored another spring break trip abroad this year. This year’s location of choice was the Tuscany area of Italy. Some of the cities included in the trip were Venice, Florence, Sienna, and Montecatini. The cost of the trip, approximately $2,000.00, was a little on the high side, but included many different things in that price.

The price of the trip included three meals a day as well as two person rooms in a quite nice hotel. There was also a bus that took us to at least one different city everyday of the nine day, seven night trip. The price also included such things as tour guides, airfare, insurance (optional), and a few excursions. CAPE did put over $200.00 per person towards the cost of the trip.

From what I have heard from many of the people who have gone on the trip, it was worth every penny. The weather in Italy was a lot like it is here in New Hampshire. Almost every morning you needed a light jacket, but as the day went on you did not need one. There was only one day of bad weather, and that was the day the group went to Florence. As a result of the weather, many people in the group decided to take the train back to Florence on one of the free days.

The flight there and back was very long. The flight there was approximately eight hours, and the flight back was about ten hours. Other than a few issues during the trip, overall it was successful. Holly Arnold, the coordinator of the trip, informed me to, "look for the announcement for next year’s trip in October."
