IGC's Spring Wrap-Up

By Katie Perry- Cntributing Writer

The Inter-Greek Council (IGC) has had a vivacious and successful spring semester, but it is not over yet. IGC will be hosting a Dunk Tank at SNHU Stock to raise money for a local charity, and it will run from 12p.m.-3p.m. on Saturday, April 25th. Not only will you be able to help a local charity, but you will be able to dunk people such as Tiff Lyon and Gavin Telfer. With the success of past events, IGC is expecting a positive response from the SNHU community.

The spring semester events consisted of the Blood Drive, Enter the Haggis, and Stiffwater Junction. The Blood Drive occurs every semester, and the American Red Cross and IGC would like to thank all those who volunteered or donated. The turnout for the Blood Drive increased this semester because two Red Sox tickets were raffled off to those who donated. Immediately following the Blood Drive was Enter the Haggis, a band that knows how to truly celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Stiffwater Junction was also brought onto campus on April 15th in celebration of Greek Games.

Greek Games occurred from April 13th-16th, in which the sororities and fraternities pair together and have a friendly competition. Playing everything from volleyball to tug of war to basketball, the Greeks opened up viewing the games to the SNHU campus. A scoreboard with pictures of the Greeks was hung in the student center to publicize the standings.

Now wrapping up the year, IGC is preparing to be a bigger force on campus next year. With the wonderful response on events that IGC has received from the SNHU community, IGC is planning to increase its involvement on the campus. Being Greek means being involved, and IGC is hoping to get more students involved by participating in and attending events. The Inter-Greek Council's last event is at SNHU Stock, and IGC hopes to see you there.
