Letter From The EditorBy Aimee Terravechia- Editor in Chief Last issue! I'm a little excited and a little nervous all at once. As we say goodbye to the seniors that are leaving us we also prepare for the coming year. It is a strange thing to witness—the ending of one thing along with the simultaneous beginnings of another. To the seniors—goodbye and good luck. I know you all have given this paper everything you possibly could. Under your leadership we saw our biggest publication to date, the advent of a new website (www.snhuobserver.com for those of you who still haven't seen it), and huge push towards the best journalism possible. Thank you for showing me the ropes. You have left in your place a well-prepared and inspired staff. To the newbies (like myself)—I know that we can continue the standard of excellence that our predecessors have established. Together we will push this paper to greater heights. Congratulations to all of the new editors. I know we can all make this paper even more amazing. To the readers—thanks for a wonderful year. Your submissions and readership means a lot to us at the Observer. We value your opinions, and as always, encourage letters to the editor as well as submissions to the Opinion section of the paper. Make your voices heard! Other than congratulations and goodbyes, I want to encourage you all to leaf through the pages of this paper. Be sure to read Sinziana Scoarta's article on Amnesty International, as well as her Opinion piece of the lack of human-rights related community involvement. Patrick Trouve & Tim Callahan's 2009 NFL draft preview is sure to peak the interests of football enthusiasts everywhere. Reviews of One Night Stand and the Phi Delta Psi Talent Show by Haley Webb can be found in the Entertainment section; and for the horoscope junkie in all of us, be sure to check out our all-new horoscopes! Enjoy our final issue of the Observer for the 08/09 year, and please, let us know what you think! Have a stellar summer break! |
