Letter From The Editor

By Daniel Smith- Managing Editor

It is rare that I get a chance to talk directly to the Observer's readers, but I felt that it was necessary for me to say my goodbyes to an organization and its readers who have given me so much at SNHU to love and miss. I have worked on the Observer for four years and I never thought that I would have become so invested or so proud of the work that has been done in such a short time. I have been here through many good times and seen the paper grow immensely. The Observer was printing 12 pages in October of my Freshman Year and has now hit is milestone of 36 pages in October of my senior year.

I have cherished my years here at SNHU and my time with the Observer has been some of the best time I have spent here. I have worked with many colorful characters from our always-faithful layout editors to our crazy Editors in Chiefs; it has been a rollercoaster ride of fun. My involvement with the paper has grown as from my early articles as a freshman culinary student, to my work as the News Editor in 2008, and to my final work as the managing Editor. I have held many positions and written many articles, but have never grown tired of the work I did.

As well as 7 of my fellow Editors I will be graduating in May and have high hopes for the future of the Observer. The new Executive Board has taken full charge of the Newspaper and has done a great job. They have already made some good changes throughout this issue that I think you will all enjoy. As for after graduation I have decided to weather this economic storm in Graduate School in upstate New York and hope that when I get out I can go to work at a good job. I hope to get a little relaxation in this summer before I start off my new career as a Graduate Student, but as many of you know, it is difficult for me to relax at all. I hope that all you have a bright future and never let go of your dreams.
